Dr Don Slaunwhite graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in May 1992 after obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree from Dalhousie University in May 1988. The path to veterinary medicine was not a straightforward one. While working in human emergency medicine he entered university where a curiosity and desire to learn more about animals began. The opportunity to combine both medicine and working with animals led to only one direction.
Even after 30 years his love for the profession of veterinary medicine has not diminished. The ability to help people and their beloved creatures through both joyous and difficult times is as important as it has always been. All areas of veterinary medicine are rewarding but in the last number of years performing TTA procedures for ACL injuries is especially satisfying.
Downtime is spent spending as much time as possible in or on the ocean.
