Regular fecal exams are crucial for detecting and treating internal parasites.
What’s the scoop on cat poop? Fecal exams are used to determine a diagnosis, treatment plans, medications and dewormer. Fecal analysis can help us find parasites that may be causing your cat grief.
Most internal parasites are invisible to the naked eye; this means we need to look on a microscopic level.
Under the microscope, we look for ova (eggs) or adult parasites that we can identify, qnd then we come up with an appropriate treatment plan tailored to your pet’s needs.
We ask that you bring in a fresh sample, then we run a fecal centrifugation test and look at the sample under the microscope.
Using non-clumping litter, such as “yesterday’s news”, you will be able to collect a sample from the litter box with minimal sand contamination.
Please call and have one of our health care staff provide you with a detailed estimate.
